Question/Problem Description

Product Updates are the most recent patch release available for a product. They are fully qualified releases, which include all previous fixes.  Product Updates are available as part of a DataDirect Technologies SupportLink Contract. If you do not have a SupportLink Contract, please contact our SupportLink Sales team.

To download the latest Connect for ODBC and Connect64 releases, go to the Download Center and log in. Click Download software to see the list of your licensed products. Select the version number and platform of your Connect or Connect64 for ODBC installation. You can download the Connect or Connect64 for ODBC release by clicking the HTTPS download or Download Manager button.

Note:  On Unix platforms, ensure the saved file name ends with an upper-case Z.

DataDirect OEMs should download a copy of the latest release from the ThruInc OEM FTP site. Select OEM/patches/<product>/<product_version> from the left navigation bar.  Contact SupportLink if you do not know the OEM Login for the ThruInc OEM FTP site. Release installation instructions for version 7.0 and later where releases are full installers:

To install the release on Windows:

1.  Copy the release zip file to a temporary directory.
2.  Use WinZip to extract the zip file to the temporary directory.
3.  Install the release using the instructions from the section Installing from Downloaded Files in the DataDirect Connect Series for ODBC Installation Guide at Knowledge Base article Where to find DataDirect product documentation.  The installer will overwrite the existing driver file(s) with the versions in the release installer.

To install the release on Unix/Linux:

1.  Copy the .Z file to a temporary directory.
2.  Uncompress the .Z file.
     uncompress PROGRESS_DATADIRECT_CONNECT64_ODBC_7.1.6_LINUX_64.tar.Z
3.  Extract the tar file.
     tar -xvf PROGRESS_DATADIRECT_CONNECT64_ODBC_7.1.6_LINUX_64.tar
4.  Install the release per the instructions in the DataDirect Connect Series for ODBC Installation Guide at Knowledge Base article Where to find DataDirect product documentation.

 
Release installation instructions for version 6.1 and earlier:

To install the release on Windows:
 

1.  Copy the patch zip file to a temporary directory.
2.  Use WinZip to extract the zip file to the temporary directory.
3.  Navigate to \Drivers.
4.  Copy all files from \Drivers to your \Drivers directory.

To install the release on Unix/Linux:

1.  Copy the .Z file to the top level installation directory.
     cp XXXaix.tar.Z /opt/odbc32v53 [1][2][3]
2.  Uncompress the .Z file.
     uncompress XXXaix.tar.Z [1][2]
3.  Extract the tar file.
    tar -xvf XXXaix.tar [1][2]
 

Notes:
[1] "XXX" represents the Connect version.  e.g. the patch for Connect for ODBC 5.3 on AIX is named 530aix.tar.Z.  The patch for 5.2 is named 520aix.tar.Z.
[2] "aix" in the filename represents the platform. e.g. on Linux, the file will be named XXXlinux.tar.Z
[3] The default installation path for 32-bit Connect for ODBC 5.3 is shown.  Your actual installation path may be different.
