Question/Problem Description

Upon calling SQLSetConnectOption, SQLSetStmtOption, SQLSetConnectAttr, SQLSetStmtAttr, SQLGetConnectOption, SQLGetStmtOption, SQLGetConnectAttr, SQLGetStmtAttr, an error might be returned:

Cause
The database does not support the option which the application is attempting to set.
Resolution
This is not a driver issue.

The error 'Optional feature not implemented' is not a fatal error. It is up to the application to decide if the 'missing functionality' is crucial and the connection used by the application must be terminated, or it can continue.

For example an applications usually can live with the fact that for a specific database, the connection the login time-out / statement query cannot be set.

The error is often be seen when an application tries to set connection / statement attributes with a value > 1000 which are reserved for use with specific ODBC drivers.
