For example CAST 10.0 to a string will display 10.

Resolution
The driver is behaving as expected. DataDirect's standard way of operating is to strip off insignificant trailing zeros.
If there were a significant digit (non-zero) after the decimal, then it would be displayed when converted to a character string.
