Version: 6.2
OS: java
Database: CSV
Application: all supported applications
Question/Problem Description
If an apostrophe is present in XML, then the resulting output shows the string enclosed in quotes after conversion to CSV, if the following syntax is used:

java -jar XMLConverters.jar -from -converter "CSV:sep=|:first=yes" -in test.xml -out test.csv
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Suppose you have this XML document:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<root>
<row>ABC '</row>
</root>

If this XML file is converted into a CSV file, then FNAME ' is converted into "FNAME '".
Error Message
Defect Number
Enhancement Number
Cause
By default, the XML Converter interprets double and/or single quotes as "quote characters" - which makes it quote the value containing them.
Resolution
Specify "quotes=" in the URI to remove any quoting:

java -jar XMLConverters.jar -from -converter "CSV:quotes=:sep=|:first=yes" -in test.xml -out test.csv
