Article Number000185875
EnvironmentProduct: Connect for JDBC Oracle Driver
Version: 5.1
OS: Java
Database: Oracle
Application: N/A
Question/Problem Description
Connect for JDBC Oracle driver tries to connect using kerberos after calling setProperties() on a ComboPooledDataSource object.  The user name and password are being set in the ComboPooledDataSource object and then setProperties() is called with a properties object that does not include the user name and password.
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Error Messagejava.sql.SQLException: DataDirectOracle JDBC DriverKerberos Authentication was requested, but is not supported by this Oracle Server.
Defect Number46073
Enhancement Number
Cause
By calling setProperites() with a properties object that does not include the user name and password, it overrides the user name and password values set directly on the ComboPooledDataSource object. The driver never receives the user name and password credentials and attempts to connect using kerberos.
Resolution
There are two options for resolving this:

- Provide the user name and password in the Properties object

or

- Set the user name and password on the ComboPooledDataSource object after calling setProperites()
