Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
In this scenario a connection is made to Salesforce through Tomcat using the Connect for JDBC Salesforce driver. When the application is stated a connection is made to Salesforce. The first query issued the connection gets dropped and a 500 Internal Server Error occurs. A new connection to Salesforce is made and from then on the application runs as expected. It is always the first query after application startup when the error occurs.

Resolution
This is not a DataDirtect driver issue, but a Tomcat configuration issue. Add to the Tomcat "catalina.proerties" file the following systems property: DDTEK.enableClassLoaderWorkaround=false.
This property restores the client's classloader by not replacing with a different classloader.
