Question/Problem Description
An error occurs indicating that the TLS version being specified for the connection to Salesforce is outdated.

Error Message[DataDirect][ODBC Salesforce driver][Salesforce]UNSUPPORTED_CLIENT: TLS 1.0 has been disabled in this organization. Please use TLS 1.1 or higher when connecting to Salesforce using https.

Cause
The version of the JRE being used to start the SQLEngine service was version 1.6 which only supports versions of TLS as high as 1.0.
Resolution
Be sure to use a version of the JRE that supports TLS version 1.1 or higher.
