Cause
Connect for ODBC Hive driver does not currently support access via Knox (REST/HTTP) to Hive server.
Resolution
It was determined that the Progress Product is functioning as designed.

An enhancement request has been submitted as an Idea on the Progress Community. To promote the Idea, click on this link: https://community.progress.com/community_groups/products_enhancements/i/datadirect_connect/request_for_the_ability_to_use_http_connections_with_the_hive_odbc_and_jdbc_drivers. Customer feedback is valuable and Idea submissions are monitored by our Product Management team. Enhancement requests are reviewed during the planning phase of each new product release and a list of the enhancements chosen for implementation can be found in the Release Notes documents that accompany each release. Once an Idea is submitted the Progress Software Community will have the opportunity to comment on and vote for the Idea.

Notes
The implementation of the enhancement is expected to be in the upcoming Hive 8.0.1 release. As of May 22, 2018, the 8.0.1 release is scheduled to be released in Q3 2018, although dates and content of the hot fix are subject to change.
