Question/Problem Description
Does the Connect for ODBC PostgreSQL driver support the new password encryption method SCRAM-SHA-256 that was introduced in Postgres 10?
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
The below error is returned connecting to a PostgreSQL 12 database using SCRAM-SHA-256 authentication.
Error Message{error} STATE=S1000, CODE=139809775420602, MSG=[DataDirect][ODBC PostgreSQL Wire Protocol driver]The authentication type required for this server, UNKNOWN ID: 10, is not supported by this driver.
Defect NumberEnhancement XDBC-12985
Enhancement Number
Cause
The PostgreSQL server is using an authentication that is not supported by the driver version being used.
Resolution
The enhancement has been implemented to support SCRAM-SHA-256.
Fixed in hot fix 07.16.0308.
