License error is encountered when using Connect for JDBC driver (oracle.jar) with the java application.

Cause

The license file and JDBC driver installation is corrupt.

Resolution

Uninstall the driver.
Reinstall the Connect for JDBC oracle driver by providing the serial number and license key at the time of installation.
Make sure oracle.jar from the Install_Dir/lib folder is placed on the CLASSPATH of the java application.
