Question/Problem Description
Error occurs when connecting to Informix with the Connect for JDBC Informix driver.  

It may be found that specifying a different locale other than the locale configured for the server allows the connection to succeed.

The Informix Server may be configured with conflicting or different locales.

It is possible to have different locales configured for the db_locale and client_locale properties. 
Resolution
Verify that the database locale configuration is consistent.

If the database is configured with different locales for the  db_locale and client_locale properties, be sure to choose the appropriate value based on the client_locale.
