Enhancement Number
Cause
  • On the Type of Installation screen, OEM or Licensed Installation was chosen instead of Evaluation Installation.  A serial number and license key is required on the Product Registration screen for an OEM or licensed installation.  When a serial number and key were not provided, the error occurred.
  • An 8.0 license key was used instead of of 7.1 license key.
Resolution
  • For evaluation installations, choose Evaluation Installation on the Type of Installation screen instead of OEM/Licensed.
  • Use the correct license key for the product version being installed.
Each product version has a corresponding license key. Users cannot use the license key for one version to install another version of the product.
In this case, an 8.0 license key cannot be used to install 7.1 product version. User should use a 7.1 license key to install the 7.1 product version.
