Question/Problem Description
A hang occurs when trying to connect to a kerberized hive without setting authenticationMethod=kerberos and also passing values for username/password.
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Error MessageSnoop log shows:
unsupported mechanism type
Defect NumberDefect 35695
Enhancement Number
Cause
The driver attempted to use username/password authentication.  When the error returned to the driver, the driver did not process it and instead kept trying to connect.
Resolution
Fixed in hot fix 5.1.4.000130 (F000273.U000122).
