Resolution
Upgrading an Evaluation Installation
To upgrade, reinstall the product using the serial number and key provided by Progress DataDirect.

Once the user re-installs the product using the valid license key, stop and start all applications that are using the ODBC driver to ensure the updated license is picked up.
Workaround
Alternate option for upgrading the license on Unix/Linux:
  • Make a backup of the existing installation
  • Run the installer using an appropriate license key (control# or IPE Key) and install into a temporary directory (not the existing evaluation installation)
  • Copy the license file (IVODBC.LIC for 32-bit or DDODBC.LIC for 64-bit) from the new, temporary installation, to replace the existing evaluation installation's license file
  • Delete the temporary installation and backup of the original installation.
