Question/Problem Description
Incomplete error messages returned when using the Connect for ODBC drivers.
Expecting a more meaningful error message to be returned for the Connect for ODBC drivers.
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
For example, a connection is made with a bad password. The first error returned could be "[DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver]Socket closed." The message "Socket Closed" is not very helpful.
Error Message
Defect Number
Enhancement Number
Cause
The application was not calling SQLError multiple times to get all the error messages.
In the example above a second call to SQLError returns: "[DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'ABC\XYZ'".
Resolution
The application needs to continue calling SQLError additional times until the message "EXIT SQLError with return code 100 (SQL_NO_DATA_FOUND)" is returned.
