EnvironmentProduct: Connect for JDBC SQL Server driver
Version: 5.1
OS: java
Database: SQL Server
Application: all supported application
Question/Problem Description
The below error occurs when connecting to a database with collation "Turkish_100_CI_AI" and selecting a column with capital letter I.
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
1. Create the following table:

CREATE TABLE TEST (i numeric)

2. Execute the following select:

SELECT I FROM TEST
Error Message[DataDirect][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Invalid column name 'i'
Defect Number
Enhancement Number
Cause
The Turkish codepage 1254 has different i characters: without or with a dot:

u0069 : latin small letter i with dot above
u0131 : latin small letter dotless ı
u0130 : latin capital letter i with dot above
u0049 : latin capital letter dotless ı

The CI in "Turkish_100_CI_AI" means case insensitive. So:

- u0069 can be replaced by u0130
- u00131 can be replaced by u0049

However, u0069 cannot be replaced by u0049 and u00131 (cannot replaced by u0130.
Resolution
Replace the i by the capital letter i with dot above.
