Question/Problem Description
The number of processors on the Solaris machine was changed on the global zone from 128 processor to 248 processors.
The pool of CPU was changed to a higher value to address a resource issue for the cluster where the ODBC server was installed.
After this change when running the application to query the database, the Connect for ODBC driver throws the license error mentioned below.
 
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Although the total number of processors increased on the global zone, the number of cores/cpu's assigned to the ODBC driver in the local zone remained the same
Error Message[DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver]You are not licensed to use this DataDirect Technologies product under the license you have purchased. You are licensed for up to 128 processors. The current system is configured with 248 processors.

Cause
Change in the number of processors in the global zone triggered the license error.
Resolution
To resolve the issue :
a) Back up and remove the old installation.
b) Re-install the driver in the local zone using the installer and the old license key/control #/IPEKEY that worked previously in the old set up before the configuration on the global zone changed.
c) Connect to the database from the application using the newly installed driver successfully and query the database without license error.
