Question/Problem Description

Multi-threaded application hangs with Connect for JDBC DB2 upon connection.  Single connection is successful.

Problem appears to hang on connection, but also seen during SQL Execution.

Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Error Message
Defect Number
Enhancement Number
Cause
The following connection options were configured:

REPLACEPACKAGE=TRUE
CREATEDEFAULTPACKAGE=TRUE

With a mutli-threaded application, this means that each thread is attempting to create the packages at the same time.  A hanging behavior and potential corruption of package files may occur.
Resolution
To clean up possibly corrupted package files, connect one time with these connection options set to "TRUE".  Then set these options to "FALSE":

REPLACEPACKAGE=FALSE
CREATEDEFAULTPACKAGE=FALSE

The driver will create the packages upon the very first connection  as needed.  There is no need to configure these options unless the packages have been damaged, deleted, or corrupted in some way; or as directed by the driver documentation.
