URL NameMust-declare-variable-param-error-while-parameter-is-already-declared-with-Sybase-ADO-NET-provider
Article Number000185406
EnvironmentProduct : Connect for ADO.NET
Version : All supported versions
Database : Sybase
OS : All supported platforms
Application : Visual Studio .NET
Question/Problem Description
The Connect for ADO.NET Sybase provider returns an error while executing queries containing local variables subsequent to parameters, with the EnableParameterValidation connection option set to FALSE.
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Error MessageMust declare variable '@param'
Defect NumberDefect 39666
Enhancement Number
Cause
While parsing the command, provider sets the userparameterindex to the parameter object, so that provider can send the parameter details to server. But the initial correctly found of user parameter details was getting replaced with the followed local variable parameter index (which is -1, as there is no parameter bound for the local variable).
Resolution
Fixed in hot fix 4.2.0.7505.
Refer to Connect for ADO.NET hot fix download and install instructions for instructions on how to download and install the hot fix.
