Question/Problem Description
No error is received when data is truncated.
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
1. Create the following table:

create table test (C2 char(20) not null) 
insert into test values('123456789012345678901') 


2. There is no error returned when calling "select * from test" that the record is too long and only the first 20 characters are returned: 

'12345678901234567890'

Cause
The Sybase database truncates entries to the specified column length without warning or error, unless the option string_rtruncation is set to "on". 
Resolution
Set the value of the Sybase option string_rtruncation to "on".
