Question/Problem Description
The Connect for ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol driver ODBC convert function does not support ODBC 3.x SQL_TYPE_DATE
Steps to ReproduceSteps to reproduce problem:
Using ODBCTest connect to Oracle and run the following:
create table TSCONVERT (COL1 date)
insert into TSCONVERT values ({ts '1999-05-25 12:30:00'})
select {fn CONVERT(COL1,SQL_TYPE_DATE)} from TSCONVERT

Observed results:
ORA-01722 error

Expected results:
Correct data returned

Enhancement Number
Cause
The driver failed to correctly convert values to the SQL_TYPE_DATE data type using the CONVERT function. 
Resolution
Fixed in hot fix 7.16.0312

Refer to "Connect and Connect64 for ODBC hot fix download and install instructions" for instructions on how to download and install the hot fix.
Workaround
Use ODBC 2.x SQL_DATE in the query as select {fn CONVERT(COL1,SQL_DATE)} from TSCONVERT
