Question/Problem Description
Connection to Salesforce fails with the below error using Connect XE for ODBC Salesforce driver
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
The user is unable to connect to Salesforce database. Sometimes the user's application may not return the actual error on connection. It is best to use applications like ODBC Administrator, ODBC Test or example to view the actual error message.
Error MessageThe user’s password has expired, You must call SetPassword before attempting any other API operations

Cause
Salesforce account password has expired.
Resolution
Visit https://login.salesforce.com to ensure that the user can login to the Salesforce account.
If it prompts to reset the password then follow the instructions to reset the password.
Salesforce also requires the user to obtain a new security token when the user resets the password.
Use the new password and security token when connecting using the Connect/Connect64 XE for ODBC Salesforce driver.
