The CSV IP is an example of read-only IP that supports accessing CSV formatted files.  Each file with a csv extension in the configured directory is exposed as a table. The columns and index information is obtained from the header in each file.  Features used by this IP include:
  • Dynamic schema – tables, columns, index, and foreign key meta-data is generated by a schema function based on data stored in each of the CSV files.
  • Multiple join optimizations – IP can be configured to implement joins using Block join or Pushdown join optimization.
  • Cursor based select processing – the IP processes and returns a batch of rows at a time.  In between it maintains state for the statement to allow next set of results to be returned.
  • Custom Properties – path of the data files is provided as DBPATH custom property value.
