Logs show the hang occurring on SQLExecDirect ODBC API call.

Cause
The hang is caused by a license error generated by the backend ODBC driver. When the error is generated, the error is sent in a popup. The SequeLink service does not know what to do with it and a hang occurs since Windows Services do not know what to do with popups.
Resolution
Updating the license for Connect for ODBC 4.0 Progress driver from EVAL to licensed copy resolved the hang issue.
