Windows application hangs on SQLPrepare using the Connect for ODBC drivers
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
The application is running as a Windows service.
No error message is displayed.

Cause
The ODBC drivers license has expired. Since the application is running as a service, the Windows message box showing the error condition is not displaying. The application is not able to interact with the desktop.
Resolution
Update the Connect for ODBC drivers license file.

It is possible to get an error message displayed when this occurs. Contact Technical Support for information.
