In X12 (and HIPAA), there is no character 'release' or 'escape' mechanism. This means if a character that is already used as a separator is found within the value in incoming XML, the X12 conversion would fail with a fatal error. This patch introduces a change to the invalid= option. For X12 converting from XML, if the invalid= option is set, any characters that match the element, component, segment or repeat characters will be replaced with the character assigned. To simply drop the invalid character, use invalid=DROP.
