Question/Problem Description
Connect for XML Converters can't validate a document where a composite element repeats in a segment
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Error MessageException in thread "main" com.ddtek.xmlconverter.adapter.edi.EDIConverterException: [DDEE0007] ERROR Too many elements in segment (at least x instead of at most x).
Defect Number
Enhancement Number
Cause
In X12 (and HIPAA), there is no character 'release' or 'escape' mechanism. This means if a character that is already used as a separator is found within the value in incoming XML, the X12 conversion would fail with a fatal error.
Resolution
Fixed in hot fix 6.2.0.1893az
This patch introduces a change to the invalid= option. For X12 converting from XML, if the invalid= option is set, any characters that match the element, component, segment or repeat characters will be replaced with the character assigned. To simply drop the invalid character, use invalid=DROP.
