Question/Problem Description
Below error is received when connecting to Hybrid Data Pipeline server from outside the Ngenix firewall and setting validateservercertificate=True

Error Message[HY000] [DataDirect][JDBC Hybrid driver]PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target.

Cause
The redist files used to install the client driver were not created using the public hostname so the hostname in the connection URL did not match the name in SSL certificate.
Resolution
Hostname in the connection URL must match the name in the SSL certificate.
Install Hybrid Data Pipeline (HDP) server with a publicly trusted certificate using the PEM files and use the resulting redist files to install the ODBC or JDBC HDP driver.
