Question/Problem Description
Connect for JDBC  DB2 Driver failed to connect to the database when the username and/or password contained the special character " | " (pipe).
Steps to ReproduceTry connecting to DB2 database using username u and password | (pipe)
Clarifying Information
Error Message[DataDirect][DB2 JDBC Driver][DB2]Access to Remote Database xxxx; failed. Reason: User / Password invalid

Enhancement Number
Cause
Issue was that when | character (0x7c) was being entered as password, it gets converted in ebcdic to 0xBB. This is due to incorrect mapping in the ivicu ucm files.
Resolution
Fixed in hotfix 5.1.4.000291 (F000460.U000218)
Refer to "Connect for JDBC hot fix download and install instructions" for instructions on how to download and install the hotfix.
