Question/Problem Description

After upgrading to 7.16 from 7.01 and using the example program the connection to DB2 was failing with the error below.


 

Steps to Reproduce1. Log into an AIX Environment
2. Install ODBC Drivers
3. Add a DB2 Connection in the ODBC.ini file
4. Do not set the ODBCINI Environment
5. Run the Example program and connect to the DB2 instance

MSG = [DataDirect][ODBC lib] Driver Manager Message file not found. Please check for the value of InstallDir in your odbc.ini.

Cause
1) The environment was not set correctly.
2)  The ODBCINI file has special characters.
Resolution
Make sure the Library path and ODBCINI environment variables are set correctly.
Make sure Installdir is set correctly in the ODBC section of odbc.ini file for the driver manager to find the message files.
Make sure ODBCINI do not contain any special characters.
