Question/Problem Description
When inserting an en dash character into a MySQL Latin1 database, the character is inserted into MySQL as 1A (substitution character).

Cause
MySQL's Latin1 code page is non-standard and includes the en dash character.
The driver was using the standard Latin1 mapping instead of the MySQL Latin1 mapping to do the character conversion.
Resolution
Fixed in hot fix 07.16.0193.
