Article Number000129168
EnvironmentProduct: Connect for ADO.Net DB/2 Provider
Version: 4.3
O/S: Windows
Databaes: DB/2 V7R3
Application: N/A
Question/Problem Description
After upgrading from version 4.2 to version 4.3 of the Connect for ADO.Net DB/2 Provider, an error occurs when calling BeginTransaction() against DB/2 V7R3.
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Error MessageThe specified isolation level is not supported
Defect NumberDefect ADO-937
Enhancement Number
Cause

In 4.2, the isolation level passed to the connection was actually ignored when the transaction is started. if the application calls the BeginTransaction() method without specifying isolationLevel (which EF is doing), it defaults to IsolationLevel.Unspecified.

This was fixed this in 4.3 to use the IsolationLevel value specified during the connection time and validate it. This caused a regression where Isolation Level is set as NONE by default.

Resolution
Fixed in hotfix 4.3.0.13606
