Cause
Sometimes the evaluation installers on the Progress website are a little newer than the installers available in the ESD (Electronic Software Download) due to the timing of file updates on Progress servers.
Resolution
Check the full version of the driver or drivers being tested to confirm which installation is most recent.

The full version can be obtained by following the instructions in these articles:

JDBC: How to identify the Connect for JDBC driver build and patch numbers?
ADO.NET How to check Connect for ADO.NET version at runtime
ODBC (Unix): DataDirect How to retrieve the version of the ODBC drivers or driver manager on UNIX using ivtestlib / ddtestlib?
NOTE: For ODBC on Windows, the file properties of the driver DLL contains the driver version.

If the evaluation version is the most recent version, it is best to apply your license using the installer from the evaluation download.  Note that the installer used for the evaluation install is fully functioning. It is only the license that determines whether it is an evaluation or a fully licensed product.

If the most recent version is the failing version that was installed using the downloaded installer from ESD, then the failure could be due to a defect or changes to the driver.  Be sure to contact support for assistance.
