Question/Problem Description
Unable to load the Teradata ODBC driver when attempting to connect using Teradata TTU 16.10 and higher.
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Error MessageFrom example:

SQLSTATE = IM003
NATIVE ERROR = 0
MSG = [DataDirect][ODBC lib] Specified driver could not be loaded

From ddtestlib:

ddtestlib ddtera27.so
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program ddtera27.so because of the following errors:
0509-130 Symbol resolution failed for /opt/Connect64_for_ODBC_71/lib/ddtera27.so because:
0509-136 Symbol bcopy (number 133) is not exported from
dependent module /opt/teradata/client/16.20/lib64/libcliv2.so.
0509-022 Cannot load module .
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a valid format.
0509-192 Examine .loader section symbols with the
'dump -Tv' command.

Enhancement Number
Cause
The driver had a dependency on 'bopy', which is no longer available in library libcliv2.so.
Resolution
Fixed in hot fix 07.16.0116 (b0146, U0303).
Refer to article Connect and Connect64 for ODBC hot fix download and install instructions for instructions on how to download and install the hot fix.
Workaround
Use Teradata Client libraries version 16.09 and lower.
