Question/Problem Description

A table with its columns has been created with names in chinese characters.
When trying to get column information using prepared statement, incorrect value for the column name was returned.

pstmt = SELECT * FROM "test"."歌曲"

Expected:

pstmt.getMetaData().getColumnName(i) = "编号"

Actual:

pstmt.getMetaData().getColumnName(i) = "ç¼–å�·"

But when trying to get the same column name using this function call " Connection.getMetaData().getColumns(( null, "test01", "歌曲", null))",  correct column name was returned.
Steps to Reproduce1) Create a table with name "歌曲" and one column with name "编号"
2) Run the above code snippets

Cause
This issue was only occurring when ExtendedColumnMetadata=true is used in the connection string.
Resolution
Fixed in hot fix 5.1.4.000279
