While performance benchmark metrics are not available, performance can be impacted by the "CatalogIncludesSynonyms" (CIS) connection option in the following way:

When enabled, the driver will send a sql query to the database which is UNION of 

1. SQL query to fetch catalog information for Procedures/Functions and
2. SQL query to fetch synonyms information.

Disabling this option improves performance by excluding the synonyms. The majority of the performance improvements will depend on the number of synonyms that exist in the database.
