When upgrading the Hybrid Data Pipeline (HDP) Server from a lower version, is it required to upgrade the ODBC driver for HDP?
Steps to Reproduce1. Install HDP Server 4.2.1
2. Create a Data Source in the HDP Server with d2cadmin/d2cuser user.
3. With the redist files obtained from the above installation, install ODBC driver for HDP 4.2
4. Create a new ODBC DSN to connect to the Data Source created in the HDP server
5. Verify that the connection to the newly created DSN is successful.
6. Now, upgrade the HDP Server to 4.3
7. Try the connection now with the existing DSN and see that it is successful.

Resolution
It is not required to upgrade the HDP ODBC driver after upgrading the HDP server.  The HDP server is backwards compatible with older ODBC (and JDBC) drivers. When using an older driver with a newer server version, newer features may not be available.
