When upgrading client software, is it necessary to also upgrade the Connect for ODBC drivers?
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Sometimes, it's not always clear whether an upgrade is required for the ODBC drivers when upgrading client software.  For example, Oracle servers can be configured to connect to other database via ODBC drivers.

Resolution
Generally, the Connect for ODBC drivers do not need to be upgraded when upgrading client software, such as an Oracle server that connects to other database types.  The client software loads and makes ODBC calls that the driver handles.  As long as the upgraded client software continues to make supported ODBC function calls to the driver, the driver should work as it did with the previous version of the client.
