EnvironmentProduct: Hybrid Data Pipeline
Version: 4.3
O/S: Linux
Databse: SQL Server
Application: Salesforce
Question/Problem Description
Salesforce pulls data from HDP which is connected to SQL Server:

Data size has increased by 10X and querying the data with an ORDER BY clause in the query is negatively impacting the performance.  It is now taking up to 6 times longer to get results.

Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Error Message
Defect Number
Enhancement Number
Cause
The query originates from Salesforce and includes the ORDER BY clause; which was found during testing to be a major contributor to the slower performance.
Resolution
Modify the source of the query at the Salesforce end point so that the query being generated is optimized.  In this instance, the views for the data objects were changed so that the ORDER BY clause was not included.

Since HDP is passing the query from Salesforce to SQL Server, any changes that would effect performance would have to be made in Salesforce or SQL Server.
